3. Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship Scheme

The Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi has launched the Merit-Based Scholarship Scheme for Minority Students from the year 2007-08. This scheme is applicable to students from the minority communities of Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Sikh, Parsi and Jain studying in professional courses (degree and post-graduate). For this scheme, the annual income of the family (both parents combined) has been fixed up to Rs. 2.50 lakhs. Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State has been declared as the nodal office for this scheme in the state of Maharashtra.      

Fresh set/quota of scholarships-

From the academic year 2022-23, the following scholarship amount is given to eligible minority students who come for new and renewal scholarships under this scheme for the professional course in which they are studying.

Scholarship Amount -

Under this scheme, the following scholarships are provided to eligible students who come for new scholarships and renewals.

The sanctioned amount of these schemes is deposited directly into the bank account of the students by the Central Government under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Detailed information about the above schemes is given on the website of the Ministry of Minority Affairs of the Central Government (www.minorityaffairs.gov.in) / National Scholarship Portal (NSP) of the Central Government (link – www.scholarships.gov.in).

The scheme is implemented online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) of the Central Government (website – www.scholarships.gov.in). It is mandatory for fresh students admitted to benefit from the scheme and eligible students who were granted scholarship in the previous academic year to apply for renewal online within the deadline mentioned on the NSP portal.
