Scholarship For Top Class Education for Students with Disabilities
The Scholarship For Top Class Education for Students with Disabilities (Scholarship For Top Class Education for Students with Disabilities) has been implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, New Delhi, through the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, for students pursuing higher education (undergraduate and postgraduate degree/diploma courses) in institutions designated by the Central Government for students with disabilities from the year 2015-16. For this scheme दिव्यांगाचे Disability level of 40 % or more and annual family income (both parents combined) is fixed up t0 Rs, 8.00 lakhs Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State has been declared as the nodal office in the state of Maharashtra for this scheme.

Scholarship Amount -
Under this scheme, the following scholarships are provided to eligible students who come for new scholarships and renewals.

A) | Reimbursement of admission fees and academic fees payable to the institution/university | Up to Rs.1,90,000/- per annum (subject to actual amount) |
B) | Miscellaneous/Miscellaneous Allowances | |
i) | Library fees, sports fees, medical examinations and other necessary fees payable by the institution/university/board | Up to Rs.10,000/- per annum (subject to actual amount) |
ii) | Reimbursement of the cost of purchasing computers/laptops and their related spare parts | Rs. 45,000/- payable once in the first year of the full course. |
iii) | Reimbursement of the cost of purchasing aids and assistive devices, including software, required for the specific disability of selected candidates. | Rs. 30,000/- payable once in the first year of the full course. |
C) | Maintenance/Preservation Allowance | Rs. 3,000/- per month for students staying in hostels, Rs. 1,500/- per month for day-scholar students |
D) | Special allowances (depending on the type of disability, such as reading allowance, protection allowance, assistance allowance, etc.) | Rs. 2,000/- per month. |
E) | Book Allowance | Rs. 5,000/- per annum |
The sanctioned amount of these schemes is deposited directly into the bank account of the students by the Central Government under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
